husking

Yesterday we made a sweet corn husk doll from this beautifully shot tutorial.

Then the little girl I know added her own twist (aye, she must take after her mama a little bit...)

The corn husk doll lass couldn't possibly be without hair, or a face! So we embroidered a piece long lock of husk hair down with bright green floss, and I made some sweet little blue eyes...

And then we had ourselves a doll at last.

A lasting memory of the sweetness of summer.
