Last week this just happened. I felted a big pile of autumn and winter-colored sweaters - some destined to be one of kind wool nap mats, others intended for upcycled wool animals and still others set for heart ornaments for the holidays.
In the pile was this foxy orange brown sweater and it somehow had felted into just the right size for a little girl. As a dress, as a fox dress costume. Paired with a needle felted headband, and a big bushy tail... and we had a
fox costume.
This one is in our
shop. The little girl I know has her heart set on being a ladybug for Halloween this year. Off to find a red sweater....
I thought for sure from the pictures that this one would be a keeper, but I'm sure the ladybug will be just perfect for her!
ReplyDeleteIt's a toss up between a bee and a ladybug, and a dog! :) Last year we had a fierce pirate. But I think this year fierce is not so popular... and foxes are just a little fierce :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by the blog!
Oh that's so cute! :0)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see her costume for Halloween.
Have a wonderful day!

Uhh...my jaw is on the floor. Cute cannot describe the fierceness of this!!!
ReplyDeleteOh she looks too cute! Can't wait to see the ladybug costume, or bee, or dog - whichever I just know will be adorable.
ReplyDeleteWarm wishes, Tonya
Oh my, I love that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little fox! I had a wonderful sewing friend who made little bonnet and capelet costumes for her children for Halloween. They could be popped right over a thick coat, and they were really cute. Beth
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Beth! Capelets and bonnets were often what I had growing up as we often had icy rain or very cold temperatures on Halloween (in Montreal).
