GIVEAWAY - Artimus Art for the petite Picassos in your life
About this time last year, I looked over at the (growing) pile of drawings, collages, watercolor paintings, masks and other artistic creations of my daughter and gulped. I mentally multiplied that pile by five, and ten years... and wondered what I was going to do. How was I going to categorize it and keep it so that one day she could have it? But would she actually want half a room full of pieces of her childhood art?
So I started to think about options, and how we might figure out a better alternative.
And I didn't have to do much thinking, in the end, because Dana from Artimus Art had already figured out a beautiful approach. They help you to save and preserve your child's art in a gorgeous, museum quality, customized, oversized, hard cover book. The art is archived on the web in a private online gallery, and preserved, ready to be turned into a new book at any time (what a wonderful grandparents' gift!!)
Here are some pictures of our beloved book (made last year), full of our child's art (name's been "edited" out):
What I liked most was having her huge, oversized watercolor paintings shrunk down to a smaller size and preserved for longevity. Dana even expertly photographed and included a few of my daughter's first pottery pieces. I could never have properly scrapbooked this art collection, and the time required would have been too much at this point.
To help give everyone a chance to try Artimus Art, Dana has offered everyone a 10$ discount on their package of choice, valid until October 24th, using this code: Q6W7P2VO1
We were so delighted to find them that we became one of their first Canadian customers. Everything worked out wonderfully. Here's how it works:
• you pick a book package that is best suited to your family (in terms of # of pages, pieces of art, etc.)
• Artimus Art sends you a member package, and you send them your artwork in the return postage paid customized portfolio
• they will let you know when your online art gallery is open for viewing: you can rearrange the order of the pieces, choose a cover image, and customize your book.
• they will deliver your book right to your door.
We're carefully amassing our pile of art for this year's book. In the meantime, Dana from Artimus Art offered up this generous giveaway for one lucky winner. It's a LITTLE RED WAGON PACKAGE, worth $120!
This giveaway package includes a 24-page custom art book, with all the art collection and online art gallery benefits in preparing your book.
GIVEAWAY is open to US residents only.

ReplyDeleteThis is just a comment. I'll tell you what happens ten years from now, or twenty - you, like me, will probably have several LARGE boxes of art you could NOT do away with stuck in a storage cabinet that is nearly bursting. I have been planning to do this very thing now - but with blurb. com. I use them all the time and have been scanning and correcting our very extensive photographic family history. I want to do SO many books - and the art is one of them. Exciting stuff, this print on demand. I'll check out Artimus and see how they measure up. Thanks for the heads up
ReplyDeletehi jen! i'm excited about our upcoming collaboration! ;)
ReplyDeleteooh, this is so neat! i just found your blog and this contest. my little guy is 14 months old and just started drawing. his first drawing is titled "Abstract Duck" after his favorite animal, and also the word he said when he handed over the masterpiece to his dad.
