new column!

Yesterday was the inaugural post of my new monthly column over at Cosa Verde's blog. It's a visual tour of some eco artisans' neighborhoods, and this month started with California.

So many of us are inspired by the nature and neighborhoods around us, and it's great to learn more about that - both as fellow artisans and as shoppers. Part of the appeal of the handmade movement is allowing buyers to purchase from individual people - who make pieces by hand, one at a time. Shedding more light on how and why these people work is an important part of furthering the movement, I think, and I'm thrilled to be able to help artists tell more of their stories.
