pie

I've had few cravings so far this pregnancy, but one clearly distinct + repetitive one: anything lemon. Especially tart pies. But I'll even settle for my usual "drink" these days, of hot water with half a lemon squeezed in.

I've taken to making a crustless lemon meringue pie on occasion, in one of the lovely Pyrex glass baking dishes that is such a close member of our family.

And yesterday we picked up a tart lemon lime custard pie from Life of Pie in Old Ottawa South (where they use local organic eggs, and make the most delicious crusts - if I'm going to eat crust I might as well have a fabulous one, right?)

Oh, and those are our new red and white gingham napkins - we use leftover fabric from cutting our all-natural picnic blankets, and have started adding napkin sets to our shop. They are really lovely for pie.

  3. Mmmm, lemons.
Personally, my craving was strawberries....which look equally yummy in pie with gingham napkins.
