taking flight

The last of our first snow and ice has melted on the ground, but we look forward to more, perhaps this week.

Here is a sweet moment I captured recently - a snowy owl in flight. The photo was taken during our visit to Montreal's Ecomuseum, a wonderful place for injured animals to recuperate and live in wonderful, rather wild surroundings. Also a great place for children to learn about nature's creatures.

Here are some of my favorite handmade owl finds:

an owl necklace by lulubugjewelry

a vintage owl by BlueTerracotta

owl stud earrings by Markhed

I'm on the hunt for some great owl-themed kids' crafts. Know any?
