map love

Geography is a hot topic around here.

Studying maps and learning about how children live in other countries... festivals... food.... celebrations... fascinating. Especially for one particularly precocious 4 year old I know.

This giant (organic!) map pillow cushion cover by mybeardedpigeon would be perfect for cuddling up for a little atlas reading, don't you think?

Here are some of my other favorite geographical favorites right now:

handmade (super cute) greeting cards from redstarINK

handmade paperweight by tannerglass (such a fabulous artisan shop - read her story of inspiration on Murano, near Venice, searching out a world famous blown glass tool)

maps as art - fine art - a handmade London mapcut by studiokmo (to help me reminisce about that fabulous year I spent in grad school in the middle of London...

  2. I have just embarked on making a car play mat for my little one using our small towns street map. I love the way we are able to view the world from above.

  4. Geography is a big interest for our 5 year old, too! That pillow would be great in a study room, and those stunning cut paper maps have long been a favourite of mine.
