When I visited southern Argentina a handful of years ago (my, seems like a really long time ago now), we hoped to see some penguins, who only live in the south pole. It was not the right season, so we missed them, but I still hope to see them one day when we return.
Daddy penguins often take care of their chicks, balancing eggs on their feet and covering them with their belly flap to keep them warm. And they use sign language to communicate with one another (with their flippers and their head)... isn't that neat?
I made a little needle felted penguin duo as part of a swap, a daddy and young chick penguin. With some snowy white acorns (snowballs, perhaps?)
super cute!
