awash in hearts
I meant to have a tutorial here, and it's not ready. But I'll put it up really (really) soon. Finding the gumption to eat enough to feed myself and the little boy whose kicks I feel so strongly.. despite the now 6 month + nausea is... interesting. I'm pushing through it. I remind myself of how I will feel and tell my daughter about our labour "It won't hurt, it will be very strong". This too shall pass.
In the meantime, making small, sweet collections of upcycled hearts in a rainbow of colors feels so very right. A small task that doesn't need much thought. And then a handful of pretty hearts. To hold, and then to send off to someone to brighten their house or their lover's pocket or the twigs in a vase on their kitchen table.
So I'm making a lot of hearts these days. And I had to make some as an ode to the lemon that is so centrally part of life. In hot water. In cold water. In bubbly water. And even the occasional slice of lemon pie. The more tart, the better.
they're like little birdies, hanging sweetly from the branches. i love all the colors and it must be so much fun to pick up each one when you are done and gather them into a nice, fluffy, pile of Love before you send them away.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love these little hearts! They're simply adorable!
