like a kid in a candy store... artistic inspiration
I'm writing a series over at the Artisans Gallery team blog, one all about how we got to where we are today as artisans. Creative inspiration... childhood art experiences... art with grandparents... patience....
And today, in part 5 of the series, Stephanie from the beautiful miniature clay art shop Petit Plat shares her experience. One of her miniature candy pieces is pictured above.
Here's one my favorite quotes from the interview with Petit Plat: "Creating has always been one of my main interests. I never played with Barbies, rather did something for them, or decorated the house, or made furniture. I also did learn to knit a bit and I tried my hand at calligraphy."
Did you have art experiences as a child that helped shape who you are today? A certain teacher or grandparent? What different art media have you tried your hand at?
my mother was on board with ANY artistic notion I had, and encouraged them constantly. from pottery to paper making to sewing and experiment baking. so grateful.
