green kids' Valentines

Tickled pink to see our heart pillow (with a vintage linen doily we hand embroidered) featured on Inhabitots here. Thank you, Inhabitots!

(above, love train organic kids' t shirt by 2mylu on Etsy)

Even if Valentine's Day isn't your thing (it's not really a big deal in our house), the concept of demonstrating love is something that is wonderful.

What a great excuse to make some homemade truffles, or chocolate lollipops on sticks... (above, photo from Green & Black's recipe here)

Or  needle felt some hearts hung on bits of wool or twine (my daughter hangs the one I made her last year from the chimney of her wooden dollhouse...)

Or write secret little cards to tuck into peoples' purses and lunch bags...

All ideas that are as beautiful (or, arguably, even more special) in June or October.

But it's pretty bone-chillingly chilly here in Ottawa, so I think we might just use the excuse to make those truffles this week.
